Advanced Agriculture Requires Innovative Techniques

Ecolo-GIS services provide more information about the crop, helping producers reduce costs, increase efficiency and improve ecological and economic sustainability.

Ecolo-GIS provides:

  • Crop monitoring services using remote sensing
  • GIS services for site mapping
  • High resolution spatial modeling for climate and other environmental parameters
  • Agro-ecological consultation
  • Marketing/economic analysis
  • Feasibility studies
  • Environmental Impact Assessment

Remote Sensing Services for Agriculture

Land Use/Land Cover Mapping and Planning  Map agricultural plots from aerial photography or satellite imagery using image classification and advanced automatic tools in a GIS environment. This can be used to benchmark production and/or resources at a site, or be used to prepare an EIA for project approval.

Remote Sensing to Monitor Crops  Ecolo-GIS assists farmers with monitoring crops, resources, and project progress. Biomass development and growth can be measured over time.

Monitor the Physiological State of Vegetation   Parameters that can be monitored include: water balance, nutrient deficiencies, plant disease and infestations.

Determine the Carrying Capacity of Rangeland  This includes estimates of vegetation biomass, the sustainable stocking capacity, and the impact of livestock grazing on the ecosystem (including habitats, vegetation and impact on wildlife).

Spatial Modeling  Modeling climate, topography and other factors to aid in site selection and project planning.

Cloud GIS  Sharing information with stakeholders.  Information is available anywhere there is internet access.

Agricultural Project Services

Agricultural Project services include value chain and market analysis, carrying out feasibility studies and implementing turn-key projects using interdisciplinary teams. Turn-key projects comprise planning (pre-feasibility and feasibility studies), implementation, training and administration. Administration includes liasing with government, the private sector and farmers to coordinate sustainable agriculture sector development.

Services include:

  • Value chain and market analysis
  • Determine financial and operational viability of projects
  • Project planning
